Suggestion for kid mode

Kid mode is a nice, useful and necessary feature - it is important to protect children, sure. We suggest it in our club for the youngest (and their parents) when advertising lichess.
I guess it has one slight "weakness": As a coach I am not able to message my students when they are in kid mode. Or do I miss something?
Idea: does it maybe make sense to allow messaging in kid mode when both (student and coach - a trusted relationship) are following each other? Or allow messages from trusted persons, that the parents can manage in kid mode?

Thanks for reading!
I see that for the kid mode a more beautiful appearance is also necessary. We all know (and like) the clean aspect of the layout, but for a child it is ugly and boring. The whole site needs colors, board modes and child-friendly pieces too. This looks more like a working environment. Great for me, but what about a 6-8 year old child? Some prodigies may like this site, so serious, but what about a child? In that, cheaters.com is well ahead.
You can message child accounts that you created for a class with lichess.org/class.

The mutual follow idea is interesting but probably too unsafe.
@thibault: thanks for your feedback!
Yes, you are right. I though, that mutual follow might unfortunately be unsafe, too. That is why a "trusted person list" came to my mind. ;-)
Maybe I should try lichess classes... did not touch it yet.
Most of the time I only want to share small information with a student, e.g.:
- something for the next OTB session in the club.
- short analysis or comment of moves in games they play on lichess - and that should not be seen in the game chat.
Maybe you will find a smart solution one day - or I discover classes. ;-)
I just like to add after having tried lichess classes, that they are doing what I was looking for. ;-)
Perfect, thanks!
