In remembrance of an American institution

I'm speaking of the drive-in theater
Quite an adventure when you were a little kid
The Fleetwood station wagon backed up
Blankets and pillows
You brought your own munchies

A B movie double feature
Fresh air and drivel
Man,that was entertainment

And the later years
Beer and cheap weed
If you kept it cool they left you alone

Man,that drive-in pizza was good
Might've had something to do with the cheap weed
Heck, we'd of probably ate a sock
If it had cheese and tomato sauce on it.

And of course the sex
" Daddy why's that car bouncing"
" They're just charging their battery, watch the movie"

Sadly the drive-in went its way
I think the last movie I saw
Was The Kentucky Fried Movie
Ya' ll remember Brown 25
Another fine product from Uranus?

It was fun to take your girl to the horror flicks
She'd pretend to be scared and cuddle up
And you'd pretend not to know
She wasn't really scared

Anyway here's to the drive-in
An indelible memory
To those who were there

What the heck i dont get it
I remember my mom and I went to one when I was a squirt. We got some donuts from the concession--only they turned out to be moldy. So she reached in her purse for the Binaca to kill the taste--only she grabbed her perfume spritzer by mistake (which turned out to be an even worse taste).
Man I wish the world was a simpler better time. It’s quite unfortunate that my generation will never understand the joys of simplicity truly, something I wish I could enjoy, but know I truly won’t.....

Whelp, we gotta make the best of this interconnected yet fully separated confusing time.
