are there any ranking intervals that can distinguish different categories of player ? For example: 900-1200 I category; 1200-1400 II category ... and so on ?
A lot of times, chess players are distinguished between beginners, intermediate players, advanced players, experts and high/professionnal level players. These are absolutely not official categories but just a way to describe easily a player's skill level. I saw this "ranking" used in a lot of chess courses to indicate to what kind of player the lesson is adapted to
There's some sort of a system in the US - eg "Expert" is 2000-2199 etc - see en.wikipedia.org/wiki/United_States_Chess_Federation#Ratings
