Why does it have to so tacky? It is true that these are the only chess articles I ever read, so probably everyone worships Magnus this badly, but I would at least fake it and try to look normal in a blog post meant to be read by all the lichess users.
I suggest slowly shifting into a natural, official position, from which to objectively describe the events. It is normal to be happy to have the world champion play on the site, but at this magnitude might even scare him, to be honest. I don't think Magnus is the type of guy who likes to be praised like this.
