What makes us keeping playing chess?

Just wondering why all of keep playing no matter what.

Nothing stops me from playing.

The main reason is, I like to challenge my brain to keep it healthy. There are many challenging games, but chess I like the most so far. Also I like winning :)

In my case, because I have nothing better to do. =/

The power of habit is very strong, and there is scientific evidence that internet addiction is a real phenomenon which changes the brain.

It has to do with dopamine or other rewarding chemicals in the brain which occur from the endless and constantly attainable *novelty* of experience that the internet (games, porn, and the rest) can enable.

Wait there is more to the internet than games and porn?

Yes. There is information known to those more esoteric among us as a little something called "cats". :D
