Rant about puzzles

I was not gonna share this but im getting very frustrated with the puzzles thing. A guy calculate a mate in 7 and get minus points just because there was a mate in 6. Its just aweful. I get that theres a better solution but im being rewarded as if i made bad moves. This is just mad

Less ranting and more link to the puzzle, please.

Got to admit, it is annoying when there's a definite mate in x, but you get red-boxed (not even blue boxed) because there's a mate in y.

-instead of mate via Qd8#, you could play Qf6+ Ke8 Qf7#
it still completely forced but requires an extra move (hopefully this makes sense when you try the puzzle)

Puzzle solution: 1. Qg5+ f6 2. Qxf6+ Ke8 3. Qh8+ Kf7 4. Ng5+ Ke7 5. Qd8#

Solution with an extra move but still forced: 1. Qg5+ f6 2. Qxf6+ Ke8 3. Qh8+ Kf7 4. Ng5+ Ke7 5. Qf6+ Ke8 6.Qf7#

There are never alternates to mate-in-ones.

guys. the point of the puzzle is to find the best solution. thats the game you are playing when you try one.

i don't get why you're upset when you give a solution thats not correct; the notion that your working answer "seems right too but is more moves" is dumb, thats not how puzzles work.

if you found a solution in the same number of moves or less id agree, but come on #1

#9 finding a mate-in-5 instead of a mate-in-4 should be a "good move but you can do better" rather than an outright fail. How is that dumb?
Nobody is asking to "get by" with it, but it's a "good move but you can do better" all day long.
