Thibault for 1% permanent royalty you can have this billion dollar idea! Make a chess game! READ!

I really wish i was in charge of some game company or if i had the knowledge to make it my self.

There are ZERO good chess games on PC. It is a huge market that is not used at all.

Even Chessmaster series where just good for ofline Sp play.

Online chess on PC is mostly played on this and that shity site.

On steam there is one free version of chess and it is an incredible garbage.

Here is how the game would be if i was in charge of making it:

1.It would copy a lot from a game called Hearthstone. Yes, it is a terrible pay to win game with a lot of "random" stuff, and all, but some lessons could be taken

2. Make the game free to play and sell customization and even some other stuff for money. You could have in game currency that you could use to unlock some stuff or use real money to buy it instantly etc.

the customization options are endless - different boards, different peaces, different sounds, different background, avatars etc.

3. Make it visually more similar to HS . The simplicity and the beauty of a "2D look combined with some 3d effects.

It could have "live" pieces similar to that game ( not 3d ones like some games try to made but 2d ones like in that game ) or you could of course choose to play with classical peaces.

4. Make the interface more simple. Couple of main buttons only like Ranked mode, casual, training

5. Make ranked mode a one kid of time limit game only ( maybe 10 min games would be a good middle ground between too fast and too slow games ) and make the whole game only about classical chess.

The problem with so many versions of chess here and different time controls here is that the population is divided.

6. Turn it into a esport game. It would be the most competitive esport game ever created. With that it could also become an incredibly popular twitch game that a lot of people would stream

7. Now is a perfect time because 99.9% of developers are like that guy from no man lies game or worse. The whole gaming industry is a joke.

People would love to play a game where you cant code RNg in order to earn more money, you could not make it a pay to win ( you could but it would be a problem ) or "balance" the game to earn more money etc.

It is a perfect time for chess.

So, to sum it up:
- you download the game ( probably created in Unity with vsyns OFF/ON option so you can run it higher then 60 fps if you want )

- Install it and you get a main screen with three buttons - Ranked, Casual and training

- You click on ranked and you see "searching for an opponent"

- When you lose the game ends immediately, just like here BUT when you win you should be informed better about it. With "WIN" over screen and something like that

- You could of course have in game tournaments etc.

Game developers are clueless when it comes to this. it is incredible that in 2017 not even one good online Chess game exist.

It is like with Hearthstone. Someone has to make a first step. and now everyone wants in. You could say the same for Moba games.

The success of that game would be incredible. of course problem is that I just some random guy typing this on some forum so who is there to listen. But if someone does make that then I want 1% of royalty in perpetuity. ( been watching some Shark tank )

I agree. I saw a Mario (Nintendo) chess set and it looked cute but I didn't want to have to get use to the pieces all looking different.
I use to be a "professional" gamer. I did make money doing it so that is why I guess it can be called professional gaming?

But to my point. I played my games with graphics turned almost to the lowest settings so I could get the most fps possible on no vsync mode. The graphics got in the way of maxing out my computer even though I had and still have a very powerful desktop. Also I suppose it could help that I own a custom computer building service and thats just what I do.

The point is graphics get in the way of what the objective is. I suppose here in this (joke thread) if this was conceived I would prefer performance to aesthetics 95.5% of the time.

For the record I have not touched a game besides chess since I started playing chess full time in lateish 2015. Also that was the time I had surgery and couldn't game anymore at a competitive level.
So the game is still 100% chess and you're suggesting a steam version?
