Crazy(house) chauvinism why?

First, let's define the term "variant chauvinism".

Variant chauvinism is the strong and unreasonable belief that a variant is the best or most important.

I always wondered aboiut why crazyhouse is such a big deal, it is an open secret that I'm not of high opinion of this game.

However by now players in large numbers come to the same conlcusion and the popularity of crazyhouse is declining steadily.

I don't understand why crazyhouse still has constant official tournaments, while hyperbullet, which clearly suprassed it in number of players has one official tournament a day at best.
Three things are true:

1) I mistakenly said hyperbullet instead of ultra bullet.

2) There are more ultra bullet players than crazyhouse players.

3) There are far less ultra bullet official tournaments than crazyhouse official tournaments.

+1) There is variant chauvinism.

This is four things that are true.
So I guess your problem is not with crazyhouse having too many tournaments, but ultra bullet having too few. Then why the title?
Argumentum ad hominem is a logical fallacy predicated on assaulting the character of the opponent.

There isn't some person in a darkened room arguing that any variant is the best variant.
Why the no inc chauvinism?
Only official tourney I am aware of is the 3+2 every once in a while.
But for those who enjoy fast chess, but want to play with inc (for Bobby Fischers sake), there is nothing at all.
I read the wise suggestion all the time in the forums to play with inc.
But if you prefer it and want to play it, you are in a strange parallel universe, excluded from the beautiful tourney system of lichess.
Would not harm anyone to add a 1+2 tourney every once in a while.
Or did I just miss it?
"There isn't some person in a darkened room arguing that any variant is the best variant."

This would be the straw man argument, which is a different logical fallacy.

Argumentum ad hominem would be if I attacked a person for their personal characteristics to prove that their standpoint cannot be right.
Chauvinism means excessive or prejudiced loyalty or support for one's own cause, group, or gender.

We're certainly not talking about a gender or a group; and as for a cause, maybe one could argue that there is a pro-crazyhouse variant cause. More logical (for the purpose of having a conversation) would be to ask a question than to make a weakly supported ad hominem attack, but OK; let's discuss...

Since its introduction into Lichess, crazyhouse has been wildly popular. As such it is logical to schedule crazyhouse tournaments.

I believe you are correct, there is a "variant chauvinist" arguing for a cause of scheduling more ultrabullet tournaments. And he makes a logical and in my opinion logical & compelling case: ultrabullet is quite popular, and yet there are few official tournaments (and many unofficial tournaments) for it. I'll ask around to try to understand what factors are considered for purposes of scheduling official tournaments.
You could have just said you want more Ultra tourneys without dragging poor crazyhouse into it. What did he do to you?
I'm guessing you're picking on crazyhouse because its tourney schedule was adjusted recently? Developers here choose what they want to focus on; and personally I feel it's more important to improve crazyhouse/standard chess than spend time on ultra.

In any case, we've added a couple ultra hourlies that will appear soon.
