The old was one smooth and calming, and was one of the reasons chess games were enjoyable here. The new animation is really choppy and snappy, and distracting to the eye. I know this is a subjective opinion, but perhaps other people share this as well!

The animation of the chess pieces. They way they move, before they somehow "slided" gracefully and swiftly across the board. Now they just "snap" into place, and its really strange.

thibault, I have to disagree: maybe it's because I was accustomed to it, but the new "sudden" animation is not pleasant at all.
