Why you lost the game by time when your next move will checkmate your opponent? Can we fix it?"
44...Rb1 45 Kh2 Qh1# would have mated in time.
After 45 Kxf3 you would have lost on time.
45...Qxf2+ would at least have secured a draw.
Losing on time is just as legitimate as loosing by checkmate. If when you run out of time there is a legal sequence of moves that could result in getting checkmated even if you are the one who can checkmate next move you loose.
According to FIDE it's draw when the opponent has no legal sequence to checkmate. So White runs out of time = draw.
@Illion This is a draw, as there is no legal series of moves where black mates white.
