Thoughts on takebacks?

What are you guys/gals opinions on granting takebacks and takebacks in general? I recently had a game where an opponent made an obvious blunder that cost him the game and I declined his takeback request. He voiced his opinion, very strongly, stating that I was scared to grant him the takeback because he would have beat me. While I'm not worried about that statement as I know it came from frustration due to him losing, it did get me pondering the whole idea of takebacks. I read a quote earlier from Richard Penton that read “A man that will take back a move at Chess will pick a pocket." So out of genuine curiosity, just wanted to see how the community felt about the topic. Thanks everyone!
Personally I grant them in casual games, and have them disabled for rated games. But I find that it's your own choice to accept or decline a takeback: there is absolutely no obligation.
Personally, I believe it depends on whether the move was intentional or a "mouse slip". If someone miss-clicks or their finger slips off the button. Then, if it is obviously a mishap, then I will grant the take back. Anything else and I will neither request nor grant a take-back.
I will accept them on obvious mouse slips, However, if you make a tactical oversight or don't see a threat before making a move, tough luck! I am, in fact, disabling take back requests right now.
I use a trackpad with touch-click sensitivity (which I'm pretty adept at and couldn't use anything else for the rest of my computer work), but for whatever reason I will make an obvious misclick maybe once every 10 games or so, and I find it in really poor sportsmanship to deny the takeback. I don't care about rating points, and it's just really infuriating to have to abandon an otherwise perfectly good game due to a misclick, because the other player cares so much about rating points that they won't give you a takeback. That said, if it's not a likely misclick, I agree that takeback requests are annoying.

Seriously though - a blunder is a blunder. No better way to learn than to fault and carry on with the game.
Misclicks are part of online chess and you need to learn to manage them, just like you need to manage your pieces.

Asking for takebacks to reverse misclicks is like asking your opponent for more time in bullet to compensate for your bad mouse skills.
I wonder how those who say they'll grant takebacks for obvious mouseslips will feel when their opponent obviously mouseslips and has takebacks disabled.
