Question to mouse driver limits

Hello there,

I am contemplating of enhancing my LiChess play, technically. My vague idea was for the mouse driver to scan the board, but only pieces of my color, and I click on of them, to snap to grid according to possible moves.

That would avoid me dropping e.g. on a long bishop move on the wrong square, which forces me to redo a move . That would mean, once clicking a piece, only moves possible according to rules are allowed to be attempted. Since I ignore opponents pieces, I would offer more than those, but I wouldn't move through my own ones.

Obviously this would enhance my eye hand coordination, and it would make me more successful in bullet games compared to people using other mouse drivers.

Also, I was contemplating how I play on the touch screen. In very much the same way, locking to squares, and actually possible moves, eliminating e.g. double click delays would make this much more competetive. I could imagine that a double handed play on touch screen could outcompete mouse users in time trouble.

My question would be, if a mouse or touch screen driver of my own making would be considered cheating. Optimizing drag and drop for instance. Preferring mouse movements that are more chess like, etc. where is the limit?

Yours,
Kay
