Knockout chess tournaments

I've never seen a knockout chess tournament anywhere and I don't know why, but it would be really cool to play. Sports that use this system, fans can watch quarterfinals, semifinals and finals and stuff they tend to be more exciting, every game is a life or death game.

Is it possible to be implemented?

Not currently implemented natively on lichess, but is a good suggestion, along with swiss format. You can play KO tournaments on other servers, like FICS and ICC (also swiss tournaments are available pretty much everywhere but here, annoyingly).

Thank you for the replies but now, how to make it happen? I'm not so good on programming but I could try if the developers need, I'm pretty sure people would have a good acceptance
