Why would someone cheat at online chess?

@trickynick You can check his profile and find out on your own why he has been marked. A much better way to spend your time would be to play some chess instead.
@Sarg0n Why do you comment on threads you don't want to read? I have never played for USCF but I doubt they permit cheating. In any event, I stay away from tournaments that have cash prizes and high entry fees because I assume cheaters will win everything.

Cheating is fun as you winnig somebody, chackmate him, forks and differnt fun over opponent. So many players want to increase their rating be in high places. Main goal from cheating is this.

LOL, not long ago I posted a series of exercises I called 'Let's win won games'. The goal was to win a won position against Stockfish levels 7 and 8. Some of the problems were very hard and most of the players failed them, including myself. However, SilentLucidity succeeded in all positions. He even gave me some tips on how to play those positions. I had my suspicions at the time but I kept silent. Now I'm sure he was really cheating.

Well, for whatever it may be worth, I can confirm my USCF rating to any moderator who would like, I am actually an expert, and since I just basically admitted to cheating on this site before, I think that's the reason, maybe combined with some prior suspicion. I don't care, really. I don't do it anymore, and if any mod doubts that, I will confirm my rating, however it may be done.

I know on other game sites/forums that so called "bitch hunting" "bitch shaming" is not allowed.

But what if the cheater him self admits that she cheats like this silent lucy girl/boy?

I personally think things like that should be perma IP and hardware banned.

OP to answer your question. Kids cheat because they are stupid. That is all. They are just not able to improve at the game so they have to cheat in order to win.

#18 I understand the logic of banning people who have cheated in the past, in general, it'd make a site less prone to it. However, I'd at least get it on the record that I don't anymore, and I actually am the strength I claim, and my classical, by the standards of this site, is simply not inflated at all. The funny part is that when I did actually cheat over a variety of websites, I was only caught twice. And now, this. lichess mods, if you want to ban me for having cheated before on this site, that's fine, but at least say so.

Mods are too weak to detect cheating because there are different kind of cheaters and some secrets of cheating, about half of lichess player cheat in different way but nobody can not notice this
