the final position is bad for black because the knight on h1 is bad and Tarrasch once said"If one piece stands badly then the whole position is bad" so its one of those rare exemptions where despite being a mate otb the evaluation is +0.75 for white

I Like giving checkmate with three knights, it actually teaches you something about how two knights can block a line of four squares and how to use that (eg. Nd3 + Ne3, erecting a barrier on c5, d5, e5 and f5).
