I do have some concerns with this. First we have to ask, why does this exist? Presumably to make auto-pairing faster for people who are happy to use auto-pairing.
And who are these people? These are people who value joining a game quickly relatively more than playing a game with specific time controls.
So this means that people who just want to play a game can very quickly play a game. Everyone else goes to Custom Game. And who are these people? These are the people who have relatively strong feelings about which time controls they want to use.
So if more people who don't care about the specific time controls are removed from the picture, and those who have strong feelings are all lumped together, I can foresee challenges in matching the latter group against each other. Which means that those who favour less popular time controls are now much less likely to be matched (since previously, the randos would just click on any old game, including theirs, whereas now they're more likely to be excluded).
Maybe it's worth it. As someone who tends to favour unusual time controls, I wonder if it's not.

15+10 and 25+10 are the official rapid time controls and mostly used. 15+15 is a silly time control. I mostly play 15+10. Now with these buttons I am concerned that I will have to play 15+15 eventually.
