Ask for an added design of Pieces

Hello,

My aim on lichess is to improve in real chess using internet chess.

With experience, I discovered that being in time trouble on internet and in real club chess is quite different... I wonder whether the schematic design of the internet pieces compared to the 3D real chess board has an importance, and if it has, then it could be useful to reduce this difference in order to gain more applicability of our internet improvements in our real club chess.

Hence, would it be possible to play on lichess with a design closer to the real one: "club" design pieces or even a 3D chessboard?
Hello,

I thiI think that such a design already exists. Just click on the Theme Button (left from the sound Button) and select 3D.
@Sequoia_giganteum is right, although I must say that I really don't like playing with the 3D pieces. I think the combination of the 2D board with the 3D pieces just doesn't fit.
Thanks for your answers!

So OK it exists (i discover it) but afer using it a bit, it seems strange because the viewpoint of the 3D pieces is a bit too high OR the chessboard is too "2D": maybe you could try to improve it and propose a "real" chessboard + pieces. However I assume this is not easy to implement it on computer... and maybe i am the only one to ask for it!

NB: By the way, I never read an investigation about the effect on real chess between playing internet chess on 2D or 3D chessboard...
#4 If I understand correctly you're suggesting vanishing-point perspective (that not all 3D squares should be the same shape and size).
Yes i am suggesting exactly that.

An example is the "real 3D beta" chessboard proposed on chess.com:
- the viewpoint angle is good but maybe a little higher erspective would be better
- above all the pieces could be improved, as they are a bit too high and a bit difficult to recognize: their design should be refined (the clearer the design the better).

Another request by the way as an alternative between "2D book" design and "3D design": in 2D pieces, it would be useful to propose real club pieces design, but a useful-playable one (for example, see on chess.com the "club" pieces, even if, here again, it could be improved in a more simple and clear design, particularly for the rook and the queen).

Thanxs!
