Please report cheaters!

I have seen cheaters with more 30 games played here. It seems people are not aware of those cheaters or they don't care about them. If we don't report those cheaters this site will only be full of idiots using an engine and spoiling the whole fun of the game.
But, how do you know someone is cheating?

Also, the rating system somehow get rid of cheaters by themselves. If they use computer (or other) aid, they will be escalate their rating quickly, and will be facing stronger opponents, thus making even more neccessary for them to use the aid. That should lead to a death boring situation of not being a player, but a mere engine piecemover, that I suspect its difficult to maintain (because have to be really boring). Also, they quickly get way better than you, so you usually don't face them :D.

Yes, they can take some points from you but... who cares.

I don't know how to identify them, anyway. I would report if I knew for sure someone is cheating.

Regards.
Maybe he's talking about this game:
pt.lichess.org/LV7MoSpl/black
the white player plays all moves perfectly and in an average of 8 seconds per move (very suspicious) ; besides, the guy is winning almost all his games but his tactics rating is terrible.
Yes drawish you are right his opponent absolutely cheater that made 0 mistakes and blunders by analysis
I didn't want to mention the name of the player because lichess is against denouncing cheaters in public. I have already been refunded for that game. However, the point is that the guy had been cheating all this time and nobody noticed it or nobody didn't bother. Maybe people are too lazy to investigate. And maybe that's why I find a cheater almost everyday. And there are still players who come to say that there's no cheater here. And another problem is that whenever someone talks about cheating a moderator closes the thread. I think hiding the problem only makes it worse. We should be free to discuss any subject in this site, but unfortunately the moderators don't like the idea.
In my experience from other online games cheaters are very active on forums. They will be the first one to say how no one is cheating, they have not seen a cheater in a long time etc.

I personally play mostly against AI online so i do not even care but the truth is that a lot of people will cheat if they have that option.

Rating system does not get rid of them. They will still cheat against better players, also they could lose games on purpose in order to stay on lower levels.

Unfortunately it is not easy to deal with those kind of kids.

I also assume that so called "bitch hunting" is not allowed on this forum and that could be the reason why some cheating topics are removed.

Careful with your attitude toward cheaters.
It's not just a problem that just 'take some points from you' and goes away.
Cheaters are everybody's problem, including yours. You have them on all levels too, not just the top rated.

It's the integrity of the game itself that is undermined (chess is me versus you, because of cheaters now, there's always a small doubt in your mind that maybe he cheated) thus polluting the spirit of the game.
It's the integrity of the club, etc etc..
Nothing harmless about these scumbags.
So how to identify them.. well that's not an easy question to answer. A series of very strong moves played in a short period of time could be an indication, but even that's not 100%
If you have your doubts, like the OP said report and let the cheat detection team here take care of it.

But you said " who cares".. we should all care.

Sorry, @CafeMorphy, I didn't mean to underestimate the problem. I haven't played that many games and yes, I found some players that absolutelly killed my like a flash, but... given my rating, it's perfectly plausible.

I thought the rating system would be enough to throw them off board and go to the "cheaters heaven", where +3000 cheaters bother only one another. Giving some frustration by the way, that's true. I didn't even know you could ask for a points refund in a game.

I am one of these that would have said I never came by a cheater if asked. Now, I may rethink that answer, specially if I look at my games. I have always focused in my own mistakes and blunders and my opponent's strong moves, but never really questioned wether they were cheating or not.

I may have spoken too soon and too much in my earlier post. Sorry if I gave the impression of not taking the problem into enough consideration. I will be looking more carefully at my games from now on. Thanks for the suggesstions, @CafeMorphy .

Yes if you're new to chess it's perfectly understandable. But be reassured, cheaters are a very small minority.
I don't dare give a percentage, but the great majority of your opponents will be legit. (thank God!)
