Chess.com vs lichess

No one's said it yet, but lichess uses the new glicko system, not the old one like FIDE and chess.com, so lichess seems inflated... but I don't think it's inflated as over time both wold show the same rating, especially for higher rated players.

I was playing at chess.com for a couple months and two things were apparent... more than a few players are cheating and even more are rude. I was around 1400-1450, high of 1523... here i'm around 1800-1850, right now 1900. *Lichess has its share of cheaters but I rarely get the feeling someone is getting over on me, and at Lichess reimburses me points if someone gets caught.

I've also played at chess24 and that site is about as un-userfriendly as it gets, the layout just plain stinks, the options too.
I would like to add my opinion, which is basically similar to many here. I started playing in chess.com and I had so many problems there, stupid mistakes, high level of stress, low rated players playing like pro, and the worst is the rough language in chat.
I switched to lichess and found relief, none of that, up to this point I love playing here, winning or losing I feel like I am learning. I still want to break my keyboard every time I play on chess.com site.
Chess.com is full of engine users. I could win more easily vs a 1800 than 1400. It is utterly disgusting. In chess.com, cheating is the norm, except in high elos. that's what i felt while playing there
Lots of sandbaggers on chess.com.

Plus their network implementation, at least on the iOS app, is markedly inferior to Lichess, especially in the way they run tournaments (arena). I disconnect all the time over there in tournaments. They do a lot of intentional changes of connections. When a tournament game ends, for example, they drop the connection and (try to) establish a new one. If it doesn't go smoothly you're essentially frozen at the final position of the game until it sorts itself out. Sometimes "sorting it out" means force-quitting and restarting.

Tech support just shrugs their shoulders and blames "the internet".
I believe in evolution , chesscube ,chess.com apes then LICHESS; the best chess site ever
If I may add a comment... not so much to the playing experience, but to the way that lichess has really forced chess.com to "up their game".

I prefer the playing experience here -- it's just so smooth... but I will say that the articles, tournaments, pro chess league, new variants, better evaluation engine, and now streaming program at chess.com is a direct result of lichess being in the market and doing things so well. In the end we benefit.

Oh, and I know chess.com is seen as "the big bad corporate guy" (and maybe they are), but they are making savvy moves with getting streamers under contract. I would hope that lichess is thinking about something to keep popular streamers on their platform (i.e. Chessexplained for example).

Just my two cents.
Thibault has repeated, lichess will NEVER pay any chess player an exclusive contract. It violates the principles the site was founded on.
If certain chess players make the decision to accept $, so be it. They have mouths to feed. Can't begrudge their priorities.
In the long run, things have a way of sorting themselves out. Top ranked players who play on lichess, after lichess surpasses chesscom in the amount of games played (simple... faster and more reliable) will benefit from the visibility.
Chess.com is a Business.
Lichess is a community service.
