In future we will be able to insert moves by transmitting the neural signals directly from the brain without "moving wood". Probably this accelerates this chess-related game even more.

Bullet - and also chess - is just pure entertainment. Every single person has different views on what entertainment is and we should respect that.

I play a lot of bullet, and 30 sec. especially, and I've learned a lot by doing that. I've learned to recognize patterns faster and calculate faster. Also, I've become more immune to different kind of tricks. So I don't play bullet because I want to improve my chess, I want to improve my movement and faster understanding of it.

Also, a while back I got really frustrated if I lost a classical/rapid/blitz game online. Of course OTB I didn't really had such a bad move because I was able to discuss the game after with the opponent. But online is different and you'll have to recover at your own. And by playing these 'unserious' chess games I don't need time to recover so I stayed in a playful mood.

So every time I see somebody saying bullet chess isn't real chess I get a bit disappointed. Because they normally don't see the reason behind people doing it. Also a reason could be that they suck at bullet and therefore think it's stupid. I myself suck at some chess variations like atomic, or anti-chess, and therefore don't play it. I still like it though, and I understand why people would do it.

So please, stop calling bullet 'not real chess' and start enjoying your own preferences.
