Traxler is viable even at top level. See Anand-Beliavsky, Linares 1991.
Alan98, I have studied this variation and if you have doubts check GJchess video about the Traxler Counterattack which shows you all about if Qe2 gets played.
Nd4 is for example is a very strong move.
After Bxf2 I think it is safest not to take the bishop and just play Kf1. White still has the queen and rook forked. I was having a debate at my chess school at whether the traxler is good opening. I concluded, if white is caught off guard yes, if white knows what he is doing, no.

Instead of playing Nxf7 white could play Bxf7+ and black can't play Bxf2+ because black is in check. You have to consider what happens if white plays Bxf7+.
