My 10 tips to quickly improve your rook endgames:

I would like to share with you my 10 tips to quickly improve your rook endgames:

www.youtube.com/watch?v=813QD5vW5-4

1st Activate your rook (often on the 7th or 2nd rank)

2nd Having an active rook is more important than defending a pawn forever

3rd Centralize your king

4th The whole pawn chain is better when defended by 1 pawn

5th More advanced pawns are better (not always)

6th Exchange a pair of rooks when up in material

7th Learn by heart most basic endgames like Lucena and Philidor

8th A rook is better behind a passed pawn

9th When you are down in material create counterplay by making a passed pawn on the side where you have equal material

10th Understand for whom the pawn endgame is favourable in the case of a rook exchange

Thank you for taking the time to watch the video, hope it helped you to play better chess ! See you around
Very nice, I'm adding it to lichess video library.
Thank you very much, this was very helpful. I always appreciate it when xM players give their two cents.
Thank you guys for the positive comments, if you have any feedbacks or video requests, dont hesitate to ask !
I've watched a few of your videos against lower rated players before I subscribed, and I really liked how you not only talked about your moves and reasoning during the game, but then went back after the game and touched up on some things that you didn't have the time to talk about during the game. Sometimes when you spoke about hypothetical lines that could have happened, you just draw green lines where pieces move and that can get a bit confusing when you're talking about 4 or 5 moves ahead, so if you could actually edit the board by moving the pieces then it would be easier to follow you, but that only starts to become a problem after the viewer has to make several moves in their head to follow you.

You're easy to understand, both speed of talking and your articulation, and I your personality also makes it nice to watch. Though I've only seen a few videos, all in the same playlist so far, the above is my only complaint, and even that isn't such a big deal.
yes, and this French accent is really cool :)
Thank you Patchouli for your feedback. It's true sometimes im firing long lines and I dont always realize it can be hard to follow. I will try to take more care about that in future

Could you say what are the series you like the more :)?
My favorite series is definitely you playing against the lower rated players, probably in part because I'm a lower rated player myself so the series relates to me more. You're also very informative, and since you're so much more experienced than them (no offense to them!) you can take your time and explain your moves carefully, which I also like.

My least favorite is the bullet games. It's not that they're bad, it's just that since I'm, again, a lower rated player, and since the bullet games go by so fast, I can't keep up with the pacing. There's nothing you can do about it, once I'm 1800 or 1900 I think I'll be able to follow and enjoy them more because I'll have more experience with recurring positions.
