A possible similar variant similar but different(?) to judo chess

On judochess.com I can read:

« Judo Chess is chess without turns! Pieces traverse the board over time rather than jumping immediately to their destination. Once a piece moves, there is a short delay before the piece can move again. »

That's pretty simple, but IIRC it's a hassle to implement on a computer.

Which made me think of a possible similar variant : instead removing the notion of turns, make them losable.

So you have say two seconds to make a move. If you don't move, you don't lose : your opponent can just play again.

If you were in check and you did not move or failed to escape the check, you lose.

The interesting thing is that it does not have to be super quick. You could set the limit to thirty seconds or even a minute.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I think it would not be hard to implement.
