Terrible Ping but not on other sites

Why does Lichess always have such terrible ping/lag time?? I play on 3 other sites that do not have this issue at all so it can't be my connection (50Mbps ethernet fiber). It's so terrible on this site it takes all the fun away and instead becomes frustrating. Can't something be done? I can't possibly move faster than premove.. yet in a 1 minute game, opponents somehow end up crushing me on time as though my "premove" still costs quite a few seconds when theirs does not.
its probably not lag its a setting. change the pre move animation time and you won't have that problem most likely
I have all the settings at best possible.
163ms ping 0 packet loss.

Trace Route requests time out.
163 ms is a decent ping time (better than mine usually is, in fact, and I have no problem with premoves taking time off my clock). That supports what Waffle said, that it probably isn't ping.

Are you sure your move animation is set to None?
Animation off, all "extras" are off. Only settings I have enabled are premove and auto-queen. Sound Off, anti-virus off, and even chrome process priority set to high. As I said.. I'm great on all other chess sites.. it's only this one that gives major problems.. which tells me it's Lichess end on their coding, not my end with performance issues. I have my system tweaked to the max.
Well, it's hard to say what that could be without any more details, since if it were a problem with the coding or the back-end infrastructure for the site it should be affecting a lot of people and not just you.

I'd recommend doing a test like the following (maybe with video capture if possible, so we can see the behavior):

Start a casual 15 minute game by clicking the Play with a friend, button, and then copy that link into another Chrome window so that you're playing against yourself.

Then just make sure you premove all of black's moves, and play 20-30 moves, and see how much time is taken off your clock.

If there's no problem, then black should have 14:59 at the end of the game.

We can continue looking into it from there based on those results.

This method of testing does look as though things are good. However, I will say it runs a whole lot smoother than when I am playing in a real game. I may just have to do video capture of a game to show what's happening.
You know it's bad when I get the "rematch offer sent" before the game even ended.
