I think that white definitely has an advantage since the game is all about the initiative and giving checks...
white has lot of advantage and it is more prominent if black mistakes in the opening. opening mistake for black is just game over in this variant. Just like transcendence chess.

Eh its only a small advantage to white, and not that hard to equalize as pieces have relatively the same value as normal chess. Ive played and checkmated my opponent in that variant.
