Grand Prix points system on official tournaments

"This is probably why the maestri we see so often - Kingscrusher, Seppo et al - ignored the invitation. I think many of the top players do not really relish playing each other too much. It isn't about the ratings in our competition because the tournaments are "unrated". I wanted to make this about pride :)"

Not really - the daily bullets are fiercely contested recently with often multiple titled players including GMs - and Seppo etc. I love playing them actually and it boosts my video interest to be able to say a GM was playing.

I prefer the concept that the official tournaments are part of an official lichess Grand prix - for myself I make an extra effort each day to try and play particularly in the Daily Bullet Arena and maybe the Daily Superblitz. I thought it would be nice if there was a "Grand Prix" system which can accumulate points from key events - but also officially - because those are the events I most try and play in.

Best wishes
K
BTW as example - yesterday there was a GM :

Maybe btw the top 100 can all earn Grand prix points to be more inclusive. Or maybe even all players get something even if they came bottom - to get a minimum of 1 point for playing.

The fundamental idea of the "Grand prix" as I see it, is to create a connecting glue reward system across multiple tournaments. The points system could be as inclusive as desired. It doesn't have to be the top 10 finishers - I only gave that as an example.
But, CM, if we talk about a "Grand Prix" we must transpose it to other time controlls, like 3+0; 5+0 or 10+0, not just a Grand Prix for bullet.

#11 the invitation to show your skills off remains. What's so important about "official"?
