supposed to be a good thing for lower skilled players, I believe that there is a free open source engine based on Turing's algorithm recently played against by Kasparov (who easily beat it).

Turing's algorithm?

yeah, this is an article about chessbase releasing a free version that works as an easy engine-I'm not exactly sure how open source it actually is-but it might be. I'm not a programmer and I don't know what they mean by "free" here, but it'd be interesting to play...

I scanned "setup turing.exe" for viruses, and it came up clean. However, it didn't install properly for me.

A lichess Turing option would be good. A bit of history and a chance for a lower-skilled player like me :-)

It was nice looking at the scanned copies of Turing's writing.

Could be great on local game with another engine (crafty does support it?).
New players should work on crafty level 1, unless having a level 0 in the future... :P
