quitting chess already

I've been playing for about 3-4 months , I use to play when I was 14-15 but I got burnt out, and now mostly because lately I Have been loosing to much lower rated players and have been working on the tactic trainer but that is worse EVERY TIME I FIND A VARIATION it is wrong because it is not the variation the puzzle needed , so because of those I might not play again, but this time for good.
As everything, it is just a matter of practice. Keep playing and you'll see the results. Best of luck!
Sometimes the moments you want to quit something are because you don't realize how close you really are to achievement. For example, if you're losing to much lower rated players, they may be tricking you with their ratings and you're actually a stronger player than you think.
I understand your feeling. Don't give up. The more you practice, the better you are.
Often I go through a very large streak of losing as I'm learning something new, my rating will drop quite a bit, and then after I've played 15-30 games practicing this new idea, I accumulate a lot of mistakes and learn from them. Something clicks and suddenly I'm going up higher than I ever was before. Such is chess. If everyone quit after they lost a lot of games in a row, there would be no one to play. Good luck.

Also, as for the tactics puzzles, maybe try lower rated puzzles. Try the "easy" puzzles for awhile. Puzzles are a different animal because there is generally a single best solution. Most players who begin puzzles will fail tons of them. Look for forcing moves that lead to a mate or a large material gain. If you see a material gain, look for a mate before you go for it, because mate is better than winning a piece. Again, good luck!
I do not know what you want people to tell you.
Following your logic the most of us should not be playing.
Good luck then.
The solution to the problem is to play MORE games. As you lose, your rating will go down and you will no longer suffer the shame of losing to a lower rated player.
Regarding variations in chess, it is much more practical to find the answer to the puzzle that is already there rather than inventing your own. For me, I found that the only way to win at chess is to memorize hundreds of lines of opening book moves and spit them out like a robot. Memorizing the digits of pi is also fun.
My chess skills are pathetic. But I enjoy playing it. At least helps me make some sense when I see a professional game.

Don't play for competition. Just play and enjoy the game.
why do you take such pride in ratings ? just try your best, try concentrating in all the places of the match not just the important ones.

most of all, have fun while playing ;)
